2012 has been another eventful year. As I wind down the year, I wanted to let you all know that I am taking a break from heavy lifting any time consuming photography jobs.
I started doing a Master of Business Administration this year. Been thinking about it for a while and decided that it is something good to have no matter which way the wind blows. It allows me to round off my hardcore IT networking skills with some business and will help me in the long run with running the business side of things in photography. I know it will lead to better job opportunities overall, in whatever market I choose and I am pursuing getting deeper into senior management and breaking what seems to me, to be a glass ceiling of sorts.
This masters is really time consuming unfortunately. It’s like trying to do a two year program in one year…. part-time. Every month is a new module and new exams and projects. Talk about stressful while working a regular day job… something had to give.
Photography has now been reserved to shooting for fun again and personal projects. I am still trying to manage a few select commercial clients who have stuck with me through thick and thin and shooting weddings/couples selectively.
I sort of like it like that for now. It feels good to me to take a break and will be looking forward to when I finish my MBA next year to picking it back up with greater pace.
