Back from Honeymoon!

So I am back from the Big Day as well as the Honeymoon… have been for some time now… just had a lot to do in the interim…

The wedding was fantastic! Aside from many, many hiccups along the way which I expected since I am in the wedding business, nothing major thankfully happened and everything pulled together for a great experience. The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) had predicted thundershowers for my wedding day, but we had none of that, with clear blue skies for the entire day!

One point I had to bring up was the decor at Signature Hall wasn’t what was expected. This was majorly a fault of the owner of the place.? When my wife, Mariana and I made up our contract, we asked for specific items which were not fulfilled. Also, we dealt with the owner’s son, Adam who is the manager of the establishment. On the day of the actual wedding however, the mother of the manager (the owner) interfered drastically with the plans and she took over and made her own decor; and details we specified in the contract were missed, such as an isle for the bride and groom (how the heck do you leave out an isle anyway, isn’t that a given??!!). Upon entering the hall, I realized that the decor was amiss. It still looked good to the guests, but not as good as I knew the son Adam was capable of doing. I urge anyone reading this, that they make it clear who they are dealing with and insist that whoever they agree to do the decor, that that person alone is in charge.

Other than that, the event was very emotional and when I get some time, I’ll put up some of the pics from my wedding. A big shout out to my personal friends who were my photographers- James Solomon, Brian & Petra Lopes, and Denise “Apple” Chapman. It isn’t easy being a photographer’s photographer and I must say they did their job well and were professional.

A big thanks to all my friends and family that made everything happen. I definitely could not have done it without you all. I love you all and you all supported us and made everything happen.

My wife and I?? :D?? honeymooned at the Super all-inclusive Breezes Resort in Curacao. That place was fantastic! We did every activity available to us and everything was done in excess, and I was very happy with the experience. I highly recommend this place!

After returning from an all-inclusive resort, it was a bit of a let-down to return to our constructed apartment, which had nothing. Not a pot, spoon, plate, fridge, food, nada! This is where I am sure my wife had a better time than I did… shopping! We had a few days before our vacation was over to get everything sorted out and finally on the last day of our vacation (20/07/11), I can say we had our house in order and everything was all set.

Before the wedding, I had mentally disconnected from booking any professional shoots or weddings other than those already booked but now I am ready to ramp up again! Bring it on!

  1. I wanted to compose you that very little remark to say thank you yet again regarding the pleasant guidelines you’ve provided in this case. It was quite particularly generous with people like you to give freely all most of us could possibly have distributed as an e-book in making some cash for their own end, specifically considering that you might have tried it if you ever wanted. Those creative ideas in addition served like the good way to understand that other individuals have the same dreams the same as mine to grasp significantly more with regard to this problem. I know there are many more enjoyable periods in the future for people who scan your blog post.

  2. Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s hard to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appearance. I must say that you’ve done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads very fast for me on Opera. Outstanding Blog!
